Daiquiri
is a family of rum cocktails, Daiquiri Cocktail is a classic cocktail whose main ingredients are rum, citrus juice (lime juice), and sugar syrup or another sweetener. There are many other variations of Daiquiri they are: Strawberry daiquiri recipe, pineapple daiquiri, mango daiquiri, frozen daiquiri and many other daiquiri recipes.

Daiquiri is a similar drink as kamikaze, lemon drop, margarita and cosmopolitan. These drinks are very much similar by changing 1 or 2 ingredients.

Daiquiri Cocktail History:

The name Daiquiri is not only referred to as a cocktail, but Daiquiri is also the name of the beach and an iron mine near Santiago de Cuba, and its a word of Taino origin.
The Drink daiquiri was invented by an American mining engineer named Jennings Cox, who was in Cuba at the time of the Spanish-American war.

Recipe for Daiquiri Cocktail:

Daiquiri is a classic cocktail, which is made using w.rum, lime juice and sugar syrup the drink is shaken and served in a cocktail glass.

Originally the drink was served in a tall glass filled with cracked ice. A teaspoon of sugar was poured over the ice and the juice of 1 or 2 limes squeezed over the sugar. Two or three ounces of white rum is poured and completed the mixture.

The drink is served in frosted glass. Later the Daiquiri is mixed in a shaker with the same ingredients with ice and served in a chilled coupe glass.

  • W.Rum - 1 & 1/2 oz (45 ml)
  • Lime juice - 1 part (20 ml)
  • Sugar syrup - 1 part (20 ml)
